The 55th Grammy awards were DOWN 27% in ratings compared to last year's somber event, which took place the DAY after Whitney Houston 's tragic death. The 54th Annual Grammys drew in almost 39 million viewers.
Yep, even Carrie Underwood 's reality defying virtual gown couldn't secure more viewers than last year's show.
BUT it's not ALL bad news!
The Grammys DID manage to score the TOP ratings Sunday night, garnering 28.1 million viewers!!!
