But to be fair, the folks behind Alex Cross should have known better!
Despite the fact that Tyler Perry - who for the first time is headlining the flick without any other involvement - is known to pull in big bucks at the box office, even HE could not challenge the money-making Paranormal Activity franchise's fourth installment!
The found-footage horror flick came in number one in its debut weekend, making $30.2 million alone, while Argo shot up to two with $16.6 million, Hotel Transylvania with $13.5 million, and Taken 2 down with $13.4 million!
This, of course, left Alex Cross with - to be fair - a decent $11.8 million, but proved that beyond Perry's core audience, no one was too innerested!
And why would they be?!
It's Halloween season, after all!
And between Paranormal Activity and Sinister for adults, and Frankenweenie and Hotel Transylvania for the kiddies, there just doesn't seem to be too much room for anything else!
Better luck next time, boy!
