Michael Alig, self-proclaimed King Of The Club Kids, was released from prison today after 17 years inside.
The party promoter responsible for the colorful costumes of the New York club scene in the '90s plead guilty to murdering and dismembering his roommate in 1996.
Famously portrayed by Macaulay Culkin in the 2003 film Party Monster, the convicted killer stayed productive while on the inside.
As his iconic status spread to the club scene of London, Alig - despite imprisonment - somehow managed to release a dance single, write a book, and even take part in podcasts with his club scene friend James St. James (author of the tell-all book Party Monster is based on).
Alig also started a Twitter account by calling and telling a friend what to write.
But since he was released Monday morning, he's taken over himself and has already started tweeting up a storm to celebrate his freedom:
Just narrowly escaped being re arrested for having my release filmed but we're ok and in our way to nyc! #narrowescape

Has the Party Monster served his time? Does he deserve a second chance at burritos? What do U think?
