She was the child star most famous for her roles in Matilda and Mrs. Doubtfire.
But since then Mara Wilson has retired from the acting world, and has NO plans to return for the recently announced Mrs. Doubtfire sequel that Robin Williams and director Chris Columbus have approved of!
She said as much on her Twitter page where she wrote the following series of tweets:
For the record, no, I do not have anything to do with the Mrs. Doubtfire sequel, nor will I.

I've been in some mediocre movies, but I've never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now.

Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end.

I'm glad I had the chance to be in it, and I'm proud of what we did, but I don't see how we could do it again.

There are many, many reasons I don't want to be in Mrs. Doubtfire 2. But they haven't even asked me (yet), so no need to worry.

Wow!!!
Sounds like she's REALLY made up her mind!
It has been more than twenty years since Mrs. Doubtfire blew the world's mind, so we guess we can't really expect the entire cast to be on board.
But for such a key part in the original movie to say she's absolutely not interested in this sequel is quite a blow this early on in the process!
We wonder if any other Doubtfire actors feel similar to the way Mara feels, or if they are as excited as we are for the movie!!!
