But Jennifer and her Hunger Games: Catching Fire costar Liam Hemsworth almost CAUGHT ON FIRE while partying it up in Cannes Saturday night!

The young fantasy action heroes were thisclose to becoming girls AND boys on fire when an 8-foot column supporting a platter of lit candles FELL on top of them!

Luckily, no one was hurt, and nothing burst into flame...

PHEW.

And we totally bet JLaw and Miley Cyrus ' fiance used their Hunger Games skillz to dive out of the way of danger!

Yaaay!
