Well, this is kind of lame!
This whole movie is about addiction to porno! What's the point if there aren't copious amounts of tittays and buttholes inundating our eyeballs as we experience life through its lens?
Unfortunately, for Joseph Gordon-Levitt , it's now his job to reduce the imagery of just that in his directorial debut, Don Jon's Addiction!
That is, if he wants the Sundance smash to qualify for an R rating, and as a direct result, financial backing from distributor Relativity Media!
The actor-turned-actor/director spoke out about the editing process today at the Berlin Film Festival:
“Yes, we expect we have to do that and I'll be getting started on it as soon as I get back. I think it is important that those images are in there but what precisely you see isn't that important. What's important is the rhythm of the film, the repetition of what the Don Jon character does, over and over.”
Well, we're glad to hear that he at least understands the message of his film, and is willing to make the necessary adjustments without comprising it in the process!
Still - we can't help but think that this is all just so silly!
Pretty much ANYONE at any age can access the raunchiest, nastiest porno out there with some well-maneuvered mouse clicks and internet-surfing, and even if it weren't, we still allow all ages to view obscene amounts of violence with next-to-no-censorship!
Yet a movie like this, just because it's about porn, has to jump through hoops?
Ugh! Whatever!
