This is awful!
Three members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot were harshly sentenced to two years in prison for "hooliganism," but they may have actually gotten a death sentence!
The women are scheduled to be transported via train to a remote penal colony hundreds of miles away from the Moscow detention center where they are currently serving time. The scary part is that more than 2,000 prisoners have DIED in the last six months during these transfers.
Lev Ponamaryov, the leader of the For Human Rights movement, explained:
"The train stops at every jail along the way. The most violence takes place on the train and during the transit stops."
On top of that danger, their legal team has allegedly received death threats from prison employees! Pussy Riot's lawyer, Violetta Volkova, fears anything "from rape to murder" and told sources:
“We have been promised that the colonies ‘would be prepared’ to receive our clients. There is only one reading of it: their lives are in danger."
They are hoping to appeal the sentence that the entire world has condemned on October 1, but sadly, are not expecting much success.
Be strong, ladies! We're wishing you all the best during this terrible situation, as well as keeping you in our thoughts and prayers!
